Katie Walden is in her second season as the Sports Information Intern at Samford University, where she is the primary contact for volleyball, cross country, golf, tennis and track and field.

In August of 2006, she came to Samford from Mississippi State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in broadcasting and public relations. She earned her master's degree in December 2006 from Mississippi State in sports administration.

Walden is originally from Jackson, Miss., where her mother is a choral music teacher and her father is a school administrator. She has an older sister, Anna (27), who lives in Florence, Miss., where her husband is the Minister of Music and Senior Adults at First Baptist Church of Florence.
