Vaughan Lyons enters her third year as a full-time member of the athletics staff at Samford, and her second as Director of Game-Day Operations. Lyons also serves as the Ticket Manager.

Lyons, a native of Elba, Ala., is responsible for all of Samford's 17-sport game day operations to include ticket sales and event management. She is also in charge of the athletic department student workers and interns.

"Vaughan has been an integral part of our department for the past four years and it's wonderful to see her progress into this role," Roller said. "She is well-suited for this role that requires juggling many elements of an intercollegiate athletic gameday." From December 2004 to June 2005, Lyons was the office assistant for Samford athletics. She assisted the athletics department with all aspects of its general office duties.

Lyons, a 2004 Samford graduate, worked as a student in the athletics department from 2000 to 2004. As a student, she served the athletics department in a number of ways, including assisting with office duties and supervision of student workers. At home events, she sold tickets, managed the will-call window and assisted with game-day operations. She was named the 2004 Student Worker of the Year for Samford University.

Lyons is married to Samford's Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing, Grant Lyons. The couple resides in Homewood.
